About the Owners
Hot Stuff Studios is run by a Queer couple, Trinicia Alexander (she/they) and Drusilla Cowan (they/them). With this new phase, we’re bringing together our love for art and creative events–each being artists in our own right – Dru as a clay jewelry designer and Trin as a rapper/singer/songwriter; among other things. We met in 2019 at a warehouse party in West Oakland where we were both vending--Trin was running a cannabis-infused soap business at the time and Dru was just getting started with their jewelry line, You Are Hot Stuff. We later started dating in November 2020, and in 2021 when Dru was vending a lot to grow You Are Hot Stuff, it was only natural that Trin got more involved in the business. The vision for Hot Stuff Studios was been in both of our minds for a few years now, but the opportunity to make this dream a reality happened very suddenly at the end of 2021.
